A model portfolio is a collection of the model's most flattering, professional photographs. As time goes on and a model continues to work they will take cutouts from print work and magazines that they have been featured in and add them to their portfolio. These called tears sheets. For beginner Models it is ok and acceptable to not have any tear sheets. If a model is just starting their career, agents will realize this.

Your Model portfolio is your calling card, your showcase and your single-most important investment in your modeling career. Be sure to research your options and choose your photographer wisely. One must be prepared to part with some amount of money to get professional prints that potential modeling agents will appreciate. Getting your friend to take some snaps with their little happy camera may not cut it.
